According to residents, bandits attacked some Plateau communities killing at least seven people.
Citing from a press statement released by the Iregwe Development Association (IDA) on Sunday in Jos, gunmen killed seven people and destroyed 250 homes in different towns in Miango chiefdom of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.
The assailants reportedly injured many people and burned over 40 farmlands in the area, according to a statement signed by Davidson Malison, the organization’s National Publicity Secretary.
He said the event happened on Saturday night and that the injured were being treated at one of the hospitals in the area at the time.
Mr Malison, who pinned the situation as “unfortunate,” urged the government and security authorities to step up their game and efforts to protect people’s lives and property.
